Let's Make More With Gina K Designs "A Big Hello" Card Kit

Red Velvet Hello!

Today's post features another project using the Gina K Designs 'A Big Hello' stamp set. I used a stencil to create a beautiful background, doubled up on the embossing powder and made this lovely card! Check out my video to see how I created this card: Red Velvet Hello! I used my ink pad and a sponge dauber to apply embossing ink to my cardstock, through the stencil. I did this twice to create some nice dimension on my background. I then stamped my sentiment, butterfly and flowers using Gina K's Red Velvet ink, then stamped over that with watermark ink. I used some sparkle embossing powder to make these images have some extra interest.

I also used some envelope templates that I designed to create simple envelopes with basic supplies. Check out my video on these templates here:

I recently purchased this stamp set at this amazing brick and mortar craft store, I found while travelling across the 401 this weekend. A random stop in Kingston brought me to Scrap of Paradise. International Happiness Day - Giveaway!

What a happy day!

This card was made using the Altenew Peony Bouquet stamp set. With a 3D embossing folder for the background. A little stamp layering, masking and voila! Very simple yet striking ❤️

Today is International Happiness Day and I'm so excited that people have actually read my blog! It makes me giddy to know that people are taking time out of thier day to spend it with me! When I first started thinking about writing a blog I wasn't sure that anybody would actually read it.

I just want to say thank you to anyone who actually takes the time to read anything I write. It really makes me feel special!

I know typically when I visit a blog I will skim through a little bit and take a look at the photos and see what products they used for their cards, crafty projects, etc.  And then I move on. I don't always read it all because I'm not always looking to buy new products. Sometimes I'm just looking for inspiration or I just love their work.  The trouble with new products and new releases is that we all don't have enough money to buy them! It's pretty easy to get sucked in to the hype with new products because they're new and they're fun and everybody wants to get their hands on them!

So today I want to give away a new product to one lucky winner! I have a Gina k stamp set that I happen to have a duplicate of and I would love to give that to someone who so desires it!
Gina K Designs - Thank You Friend

How to enter this giveaway*:

1. Comment on my blog here today!
2. Follow me on Instagram!

These two steps will get you entered to win!

*This giveaway is open to Canadian and U.S. residents only. The giveaway will be open until March 24th, 2019. I will announce the winner on my blog Monday.

Thank you so much for being here with me today! I appreciate you! ❤️

Sweet 16 Shadow Box Card

Hello! Thanks for stopping by my blog today! My card project today is a 3-D work of art. Every time I make one of these, I'm so proud of it. It looks so finished and professional. But you want to know something cool? You can make it too, with ease! Using the supplies you probably already have!

Here goes! I'll do my best to explain the general measurements and scoring so you can recreate it. And then I'll tell you how I filled mine. You can use whatever stamps and dies you have on hand and create an any occasion shadow box of your own!

Ok so to start, for the box itself you will need two sheets of heavyweight card stock. I used 130 lb for mine, but 110 lb will do too. The first sheet I cut a  5 x 7 inch panel. You can get two of these out of one sheet. You will only  need one for this project, so you can set the other aside for another project. The second sheet is cut 7 x 10 inches. This piece will need to be scored across the 10 inch side at 1/2 inch, 2 1/2 inches, 7 1/2 inches and 9 1/2 inches. The two half inch pieces on either end, you will need to put some strong adhesive on, as this is where you will attach the box to the first 5 x 7 panel. But do not attach them quite yet!

Now that we have the pieces cut, we will need to create the window to see into the box.  Choose a die from your stash, a fancy oval or a basic rectangle will do. Take the 5 x 7 panel and run it through your die cutting machine and cut out the window. If you don't have a die cutting machine you can do this as well with a steel rulear and a sharp blade. Slow and steady cuts on a self healing cutting matt will do the job.

Now you pretty much have what you need to create this shadow box card. For my card, I added a piece of acetate to the front of my box to create the window effect.  I used the Altenew Peony bouquet stamp and die set  to fill my box with pretty flowers and leaves. I also used a word die for the word 'Sweet' and a set of number dies for '16' and a small stitched circle die to create that element. I also used a Gina K Designs red rubber background stamp to add some interest to the background. I used the negative piece from the front panel window to do my stamping on and adhered it to the back so it flowed nicely and matched the shape of the window. I printed a personalized 'Happy Birthday' sentiment from my computer. I put all the pieces together and this is what I created!

I am so happy that you made it to the end of this post. Leave me a comment if you liked this project or.have any questions, I'd love to hear from you! You can follow me on Instagram and find me on Facebook as well!

I would love it if you made your own project like this and tagged me on Instagram! #jennycarddesigns

Happy stamping!

Introducing Me, Jennifer Nicole from Jenny Card Designs

Thanks for stopping by! Let me introduce myself to you! My name is Jennifer Nicole and I am a wife to the best husband ever and a mother to 3 wonderful boys! I aspire to leave my real job in order to craft for the rest of my life! Realistically, that's not an option but hey, a girl can dream!
I make, share and sell handmade cards and paper crafts. I also make, share and sell handmade jewellery. I attend various local flea markets and craft shows and sell my handmade goodies. Crafting truly is the love of my life. I fully enjoy sharing my cards with family and friends and love when people understand and appreciate how much love and effort I put into my work. There is nothing else in the world I would rather do! ❤️

Typically when I sit down to create a project,  a card or a piece of jewellery, I don't have much more than a few ideas in mind. For example, if I plan to make some cards to fill my stash up then I pull out some cardstock or new products I haven't used, a few ink pads and some stamps and I start rolling with my ideas. They don't always turn out but I have fun doing it.  I'm persistent I usually continue until I finish my project. I always love the finished project in the end. It is an extension of me and my soul

So join me on my journey creating  and sharing cards and paper crafts! It is my intent on learning how to break into the blogging / vlogging world and put myself and my work out there. Lord knows I have enough cards to spread around. I just want to share them with all of you!
You can also find me on Facebook and Instagram too!

Yours truly

Jennifer Nicole 💐

P.S.

Allow me to share my first ever card post with you!

I made this card using Ranger alcohol inks and Yupo for the background. I then used a Deco foil acetate sheet with these beautiful vines on them and I foiled that in my laminator with gold Deco foil. I added a beautiful slice of black sheer ribbon from my stash, and I use the Gina k Stamp n' foil butterflies set for the lovely foiled butterfly and popped it up with some foam tape. I use the Gina k boho flowers for the sentiment. My card base is a heavy base weight white 130 lb cardstock. Thanks for reading to the end!
